Genealogy & Research Requests

We're eager to help with your genealogical and scholarly research questions, even if you cannot visit us in person. If your question requires just a few minutes to answer, and the reply can be an e-mail or a few photocopied pages, there is no charge for this service (although donations are always welcome!). More time-consuming projects will be handled for $25 per hour, one hour minimum. E-mail the Historical Society at info@bridgtonhistory.org.

Please include your mailing address! For many queries, the quickest, and therefore least expensive way to respond is with a few photocopied pages.

Research

Cemetery Records

The Bridgton Cemetery Records are being kept up-to-date by Kathleen Vincent. This endeavor was started by Evelyn Lamb, assisted by Linda Johnson. Evelyn and the late Lois Lane initiated the project by listing burials and information on each of the 29 town and private cemeteries. Books containing this information are available for reference at the Museum. Books are consulted frequently by those individuals doing genealogical research.
