2022 BHS Seminar Series

We are pleased to announce our 2022 Seminar series with the Bridgton Historical Society! We will be covering three topics this year.

Our first Seminar on June 11th will cover the various proposed railroads into Bridgton, including standard gauge, three-foot gauge and ultimately two foot- gauge proposed lines and the history behind them.

Our Second Seminar on August 27th will cover the various locomotives of the B&SR from the humble Hinkley #1 & #2 to the far more powerful #8. With some coverage of the various rail cars in use by the railroad.

Out last seminar in the series is on October 22nd, and will cover the groundbreaking and construction the railroad and the difficulties the crew faced when constructing the line in the winter.
